Booth Family Hall of Athletics
A must-see for any Jayhawk fan or Kansas resident, the Booth Family Hall of Athletics is a 26,000-square-foot museum adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse. Visitors can walk on the original center court floor of the fieldhouse and through the history of Kansas athletics, from 1879 to present. KU traditions, rivalries and stars are highlighted, including Wilt Chamberlain and James Naismith, the inventor of basketball and KU's first coach.
Natural History Museum & Biodiversity Research Center
The museum maintains research inventories of 7 million plant and animal specimens representing life on Earth, past and present. Among the most notable exhibits are huge fossils of Cretaceous period sea creatures from the plains of Kansas and a historic diorama of North American mammals created for the Columbian Exposition of 1893.
Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics
The institute was established to encourage both historical scholarship and fresh thinking about public policy issues; and to promote greater student and citizen involvement in the democratic process.
Spencer Museum of Art
A comprehensive teaching collection of 22,000 works is especially strong in Asian ceramics, prints and paintings; European and American paintings; and photography. The renowned quilt collection is a highlight of its decorative arts holdings.
Spencer Museum of Art Printroom
The Max Kade-Erich H. Markel Department of Graphic Arts at the Spencer Museum of Art houses nearly 10,000 works on paper, including prints, drawings, photographs and artists' books.
Wilcox Classical Museum
Begun by a late 19th-century Greek professor who wanted his students to see replica versions of great classical-era artworks, the collection of statues, coins and artifacts remains a valuable aid for the appreciation of the traditions of the Greeks and Romans.
